Interactive Combat Story: First Night in Normandy

“Flash!” you whisper as loud as you dare, ready to fire into the darkened glade.

"Thunder, thunder!” is the meek reply and you lower your weapon slightly before heading towards the voice.  A friendly face emerges from the darkness and you instantly recognize your fellow paratrooper, Frank Greene.  He jumped from the same C-47 as you and seems to be in a similar predicament.

You exchange warm greetings and assess your mutual situation.  Glad to have the company, you both head towards your objective at the Douve river.  Following a southwestern course, you approach an antiaircraft battery manned by four Germans.  They are strafing the sky with tracer rounds, the arc of the shell trajectory cutting a bright line through the heavens.  There are still planes and men in the sky and this gun is a threat to them both.  It is a daunting task for just two soldiers.  You check your ammo supply, clutch at a grenade and decide what to do.

If you continue towards your objective, Go to 18.
