Before your foe can reach your position, a hail of covering fire from your rear decimates the enemy and they fall back, their morale severely tested. Looking back, you are relieved to see elements of 1st Battalion arrive with fresh men and ammunition! Grateful for the arriving reinforcements, you fall back for additional munitions.
Over the next hour, the German advance is stifled and finally driven back. You held your position in the face of incredible danger and for that your valor will be recognized. However, the loss of your friend, Private Luker, is little consolation.
