Office blocks in the centre of the nearby town of Basingstoke can be seen in the background here.
This large mound was possibly where a defensive gun might have been positioned.
In this area, they have recreated how some of the ornamental gardens might have appeared at the time.
And here I am stood in front of the upper bank of the Earthworks with one of the broken and crumbling walls of the “Old House†in the background.
