The Tank Museum Auction

By Armchair General

Join The Bidding War Over Unique Tank Experiences

Riding in the commander’s seat of a Panzer III is a dream that money can’t buy for many enthusiasts – but this summer The Tank Museum is offering this unique opportunity in an online charity auction.

In association with Top Lots, the charity arm of popular auction website E-Bay, the Tank Museum is offering generous bidders two VIP Tankfest 2008 packages, the highlight of which will be the opportunity to ride in a World War Two Panzer III or an interwar war Vickers Medium taking take part in an arena display.

Fundraising Manager Michael Bolton said; “This is a unique opportunity for enthusiasts to dig deep and win themselves a fantastic experience that has never been on offer to the public before. In turn, they will also be assisting The Tank Museum’s fundraising efforts at a critical stage in our redevelopment project.”

The two lots appeared on the Top Lots website in February, and the 10 day auctions will run from the 8th of May.

The packages include entry for two to Tankfest (the world’s leading tank event), and a VIP lunch. The highlight of Lot 1 will be the Panzer III ride, whilst Lot 2 will feature a ride in the Vickers Medium. Both will be redeemed on the 29th July 2008.

“We are hoping interest in these experiences will be vast – and potentially international. There is no reserve on the auction – so I would encourage interested bidders to register their interest on the Top Lots site now. In doing so they will be sent regular emails on the progress of the auction to make it easier to keep track of the expected bidding,” added Michael.

Full terms and conditions for the auction and the lots themselves can be found at www.toplots.co.uk.
