Staff Sergeant Ty Carter Becomes 5th Living Medal of Honor Recipient

At 2:00 pm on Aug. 26, 2013, Army Staff Sergeant, Ty Carter, will be awarded the Medal of Honor at the White House.

Carter, 33, will become the fifth living Medal of Honor recipient for actions in Afghanistan.

Only 12 men from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars have been honored with the award, singled out for “conspicuous gallantry” and “selfless courage” on the battlefield.
