Shrapnel Games’ Bronze to be Boardgame

Shrapnel Games has announced that it will be partnering with Eurogame creator and distributor Spiral Galaxy Games to publish a boardgame version of Bronze. Bronze, sometimes called a "board game without a board," is a strategy game set in Mesopotamia where the player controls one of twelve civilizations. There are no elements of chance and players are in full control of their destiny as they attempt to dominate the map.

Dave Gilham of Spiral Galaxy Games said, “Bronze caught my eye on BoardGameGeek and having played the demo, and then the full version, I was intrigued with the game play. It’s enjoyable, it’s fast, there is no luck , you win or lose based entirely on your planning and tactics. The different maps and tribes leads to a great replay ability. All good points for a Euro style game.”

The boardgame version of Bronze is currently in beta testing and plans are to release the game with six civilizations. The game’s mechanics are likely to remain largely unchanged, although initial reports indicate that there will be no embassy buildings in the game. Production has been targeted for the second or third quarter of 2012.
