In June, 1941

The 3rd Tank Division (without the 1st Tank Battalion., Mot. Rfl. Regiment, and AA Battalion) and the 5th Motorcycle Regiment (without 2 companies) were concentrated in B. Lobyanka, Nemoyevo, Shvanibakhova region to be ready to attack Ostrov and Pskov. 1 Motorcycle company + AT battery (since July 3rd) were protecting the military camp near Tishino (Ostrov area).

After a short aerial attack two tank battalions of th 6th Tank Regiment passed through the troops of the 111th Rifle Division and attacked the 1st Panzer Division in Ostrov. One tank company managed to reach the bridge. At the end of the day, all troops retreated to their initial positions. For the attack on Ostrov, the 5th and 6th Tank Regiments were used, the 3rd Howitzer Regiment of the 3rd Tank Division with two infantry regiments and a Howitzer regiment of the 41th Corps.
