CDV Software Entertainment USA has shipped Cossacks II: Battle for Europe to North American retail today. Battle for Europe, the standalone expansion to the critically acclaimed Napoleonic-era RTS, Cossacks II: Napoleonic Wars, builds upon the original game by adding new battlefields, missions, campaigns and expanded gameplay modes. Developed by GSC Game World, Cossacks II: Battle for Europe builds upon the realism of the original game, along with adding a variety of new gameplay features. In the game, players can choose from nine nations, including three new additions – Spain, the Great Duchy of Warsaw and the Rhine Confederation. Additionally, 10 new battlefields, four new campaigns, six new skirmish missions and three new historical battles (Waterloo, Leipzig and Borodino) offer an expanded Cossacks experience in both single- and multiplayer play. An improved A.I. lets players develop deep strategies utilizing real-world formations made famous during the Napoleonic Wars. New enhancements to the Battle for Europe mode will have fans playing the role of economist, diplomat and general to become the supreme ruler of 19th century Europe. Battle for Europe, Battle and Skirmish modes will all be playable online over LAN or the Internet.
