Libya Offers Cease-Fire

The Libyan government of Muammar Qaddafi (Moammar Gadhafi) has offered a cease-fire in response to a UN resolution authorizing military force against government forces in order to protect civilians in the country. Libyan Foreign Minister Moussa Koussa announced the cease-fire but Mustafa Gheriani, a spokesman for the rebels who oppose Qaddafi’s rule, said attacks continued long after the announcement was made.
