Hitler-Heiling Hound Upset Nazis
In the months prior to the German invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941, Nazi diplomats had another concern weighing heavily on their minds: A dog in Finland seemed to be mocking Hitler by raising its paw in the Nazi salute!
Newly discovered documents show Germany’s Foreign Office, Economic Ministry, and the Chancellory all got involved to insure the Third Reich wasn’t going to the dogs.
