Gen Con UK 2007
To round off my day, I loitered around the large area occupied by Wizkids. Wizkids produce collectible miniature wargames and own such titles as HeroClix and the MechWarrior miniature line. However I’ve always been a fan of their Constructible Strategy Games – such as the various incarnations of the Pirates games. These games feature gamepacks of cards which have pop-out constructible ships with which one can do virtual battle. I have literally dozens of these ships at home… More recently, WizKids began producing the Star Wars Pocket Model Game which sees Star wars ships made from card engaging each other in the depths of space. Here’s an immense promotional version of the game being played:
{default}With a large stand for selling their games, WizKids also had playing tables set up so players could try them out.Â
Oh dear, it looks like a representative of the Empire is a little sore at losing a game…Â
FREE PRIZE DRAW!
This ends my report, but the kind folks at WizKids have given me 18 game packs of the latest Pirates game for a prize giveaway! All you need to do is be a member of our forums to enter and answer a simple question – full details of how to enter are given in the related forum thread here on ACG.Â
The first 18 names pulled from a hat with the correct answer to the question posed will each receive a Pirates of Davy Jones Curse game pack, AND a promotional pack of the Star Wars Pocket Model Game.
Good luck!
