  1. Dear: Armchair General
On page 69 of May 20/2010 issue, you ask what next for Gen Erich Hoepner? This is what I would do acting in his place! I would have a
party in celibration of our future victory! and invite: Hitler,Halder,Leeb,Bock,Rundstedt,Antonescu,Mannerhiem,Goebbels,Himmler,Brauchitsch, Keitel, Jodl,Raeder,Doenitz & Goering. I would have lots of booze & dancing girls, & then suggest we postpone the invasion until the meditterainian phase is complete! Those who disagreewould become pow’s! (an early “Valkyrie”)
I would replace these pow’s with subordinats & with the 3,600 panzers,4,400aircraft,46,000artillery pieces &4 million troops we would support Rommel in North Africa & make the med a Nazi lake. I would appologize to Britan & try to make peace with her! There would be no Battle of the Atlantic. I would concentrate on Fortress Europe, atom bomb,v1 & v2 fired at a testing area only, jet fighters, & any other hi-tech developements! The final solution to the Jewish question would be a first class ticket to ISREAL protected by the 3rdRiech! All conqured areas could keep their flags & general way of life, except we would control their armed forces & police! All these areas would pay a tax or tribute to BERLIN! I would do my best to aquire the French fleet before it is scuttled! We would then maintain a defensive position & aquire no more terrotory & delare war on no one else!

    Best Regards

    Acting Commander

  2. ARTISTS AND COMPASSIONATE CREATORS, NEAR AND FAR, ARE INVITED TO “DECORATE” AN ENVELOPE AS A WAY TO SUPPORT OUR LOCAL EFFORTS TO BUILD AWARENESS OF THE PLIGHT OF WOMEN, MEN, AND ADOLESCENTS, WHO MAY FIND THEMSELVES VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.
Humorous, oblique words and images stand equally tall with depictions of beauty and compassion. “Freedom”, “choice”, “love”, “awareness”, and “peace” are words that may get your creative juices flowing.

Pin & ink, markers, rubber stamps, collage—anything goes. Complete your envelope art, enclose words of encouragement for victims of domestic violence and if you are so inclined, a check to S.O.S. to help with our Domestic Violence Advocacy program, or even mail it empty (the post mark is important to this kind of art project) to: S.O.S., P.O. Box 19000, Florence, OR 97439.

All envelope art will be displayed throughout the months of October and November at various locations and placed in a silent auction with proceeds going to Siuslaw Outreach Service Center.

Thank-you for considering participating in this unique fundraising effort.
