I am a retired Army MG and have a graduate degree in Military History and would like to write an article for Armchair General. The proposed subject is: II CorpsStands and Fights: the Battle of Le Cateau. Focus of the article are t he decisions made/mostly not made by the British BEF leadership, especially leaving II Corps almost on its own to fight the battles of Mons and Le Cateau, the inaction of General Haig,I Corps Commander, and the absence of a concept of operational command. Also explored is the dislike between the senior British generals, e.g. Haig and French ; and French and Smith-Dorrien. Maps, some photographs, and on-hand accounts. Presents a sad picture of the leadership the good British troops enjoyed. Let me know, Thanks, MG John Scott
