TV ALERT – ACG Authors on C-SPAN Booknotes, June 13
Two of Armchair General magazine’s featured authors are scheduled to be interviewed on C-Span’s Booknotes program on Sunday, June 13, from 5:00 p.m. To 5:45 p.m. Eastern Time (4:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. Central Time).
Michael D. Pearlman, author of Truman and MacArthur: Policy, Politics and the Hunger for Honor and Renown (Indiana University Press, 2008) and D. M. Giangreco, author of Hell to Pay: Operation Downfall and the Invasion of Japan, 1945-47 (U.S. Naval Institute Press, 2009) will be in conversation with Richard Fried.
Pearlman’s article, “Hiroshima Reconsidered” was the Special Feature article in the March 2009 issue of Armchair General and his “Lincoln and Grant: The Union at Risk” appeared in the November 2009 issue. D. M. Giangreco’s Special Feature article, “Ending World War II,” ACG’s tribute to the 65th anniversary of the war’s end and based on Giangreco’s Hell to Pay book, will be in the upcoming September 2010 issue of ACG (on newsstands and to subscribers in mid-July).
ACG has reviewed both books the authors will be discussing June 13 on C-Span Booknotes. Our in-depth review of Pearlman’s Truman and MacArthur may be read on this website, and we featured a review of Giangreco’s Hell to Pay book in the “Must Read” review department in the March 2010 issue of Armchair General magazine.
