Scourge Of War Gettysburg
Favorite Civil War Movie: Gettysburg
Gettysburg is, for the most part, historically accurate (the film makes use of reenactors and is based on historical accounts). Jeff Daniels and Tom Berenger also make this film a masterpiece.
Favorite Civil War Books: Shelby Foote’s The Civil War: A Narrative
Recommended reading for all Civil War buffs. It’s difficult to find another book that covers the whole conflict in this much detail. The Killer Angels and any book by Jeff Shaara are also recommended.
Favorite Civil War Game: Sid Meier’s Gettysburg and Scourge of War: Gettysburg
Although there are several worthwhile American Civil War games, these two win for their innovation, design, and detail.
Glory is the best movie about the Civil War because it shows just how important it was for the North to win no matter the cost.

Best movie: Red Badge of Courage
Movie: Ken Burn’s Civil War
Book: Shelby Foote’s three volumes are something I get something from every single time I go back in.
