Upcoming Events at the Abn & Spec Ops Museum

– Saturday, January 26, 2008 at 2pm: Major General (Retired) John Singlaub will speak about his 35-year Army career that included time with the OSS in Europe and Asia. His autobiography “Hazardous Duty” will be available in the gift shop. MG(R) Singlaub will sign copies of his book after the presentation. The event is free and open to the public. His visit coincides with the museum’s special exhibit about the OSS.

-Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at 11am: Robert K. Wright Jr. and John T. Greenwood will speak about their book “Airborne Forces at War: From the Parachute Test Platoon to the 21st Century.” Following the presentation, the authors will sign copies of their book, which will be available in the gift shop. The event is free and open to the public.

-The Airborne & Special Operations Museum Foundation is holding a raffle to raise money to support its educational programs and operational activities. The grand prize is a Special Forces-customized Perfect Flame Gas Grill and accessories, a package valued at $1,200.00. The last day to purchase tickets is February 28, 2008 for the drawing on February 29, 2008. Tickets cost $5.00 for one (1) or $20.00 for five (5). Tickets are available in the gift shop, or by gift shop phone order (minimum 5 tickets for a phone order). The winner need not be present at the drawing. -Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 2pm: Stephen L. Wright will speak about his new book “The Last Drop: Operation Varsity, March 24-25, 1945,” which will be available in the gift shop. Wright will sign copies of the book after his presentation. The event is free and open to the public.
