[1] Budionnyi was the famous in USSR Hero of the Civil War, he was the commander of the very 
famous 1st Horse Army, a huge Cavalry formation.
Before WWII Budionnyi had rank the Marshal of Soviet Union, during the war he was not a 
successful commander.
[2] Voroshilov was the other famous in USSR Hero of the Civil War, the friend of Budionnyi, 
he also was one of the commanders of the 1st Horse Army.
Before WWII Voroshilov had rank the Marshal of Soviet Union, the glory of Voroshilov was 
very large. There was the special sign "Voroshilov's shooter", good civilian rifle shooters were 
awarded by this sign, it meant "to fire so good like Voroshilov do it".
In 1939 Voroshilov was People Commissar (Minister) of the Defense but after the Finnish 
Campaign he was replaced on this post by Marshal Timoshenko.
[3] It is about events of the Civil war where the 1st Horse Army took active part.
In 1919 Poland invaded in Soviet Russia and captured large territories including Kiev. Red 
Army made the large offensive in the summer of 1920 and broke Polish units. The 1st Horse 
Army took active part in this offensive. Red Army repelled Poles to the borders of Poland and 
continue its advance into Polish territory. Red Army men had slogan "Let's go forward on Warsaw". 
But Poles gathered their forces in the region of the Vistula River and made a successful 
counteroffensive. Red Army was repulsed from Warsaw and had to retreat. (Soviet Union lost 
the ancient Russian lands - Western Ukraine and Western Byelorussia – as a result of the 
peace treaty with Poland in that time (these lands were returned to USSR in 1939).)
"Let's go forward on Berlin"… hmm, I suppose that it was the slogan of time of the successful 
advance to Warsaw when everyone believed that Poland is completely 
broken and a road on Berlin is open.
"the Crimea"… After the end of the Soviet-Polish war the 1st Horse Army was sent in the 
Crimea where the last White forces (excluding Far East of Russia) defended. In 1921 Red Army 
made a successful advance in the Crimea and the last Whites evacuated from the Crimea in 
Turkey by a sea transport. The 1st Horse Army took part in this advance.
