Curious question on whether George Patton was murdered, since the culprit would most likely have been an American.
If this is the case, would it not be most likely that it was supporters of Douglas MacArthur behind the plot?
I’m a long time ACG subscriber and usually stay away from commenting on editorials, but I must comment on Ralph Peters’ story about appeasement. I agree with most of what he says but i disagree that avoiding saying Islamist terrorist is appeasing the terrorists. Rather I feel it is avoiding turning a war against criminals into an Islam vs. Christianity war, which is what the terrorists want. That would be appeasement. I’m not as learned about geopolitics and diplomacy, as you may be, I’m just an old former soldier. What I do know is that to win wars you need to win hearts, the hearts of the young Muslim not yet corrupted by the murderers. You don’t do that by denegrating their religion.
