This month’s map explores Military Operations in the Pacific, 1944–45.

The map shows Japanese failures in Burma and successes in China, 1944; US invasions of the Marianas, the Philippines, Iwo Jima, and Okinawa; British operations in Burma; and an Australian invasion of Borneo with/US support. Click on the map above to view animation.
